Why I'm glad Jesus came to Earth some 2000 years ago

LET US PRAY:

''I am glad that Jesus came to Earth some 2000 years ago and that Christianity grew up in His name. Here's why.

Without our Christian friends and neighbors -- and political leaders and social activists (and climate activists fighting to save humankind from extinction) --  and Christian philosophers and moralists and just plain do-gooders worldwide -- the world would be a much sadder and poorer place. So long live Jesus and long live Christianity. Here's why.

Because consider the alternatives: if there were not 5 billion Christians on the Earth at this time, if there were no Christians at all, it means these 5 billion people would likely be godless heathen savages who would have no love for their neighbors or for unfortunate people in other lands. Without Christianity, there would be millions, billions of brute animal-like humans with no moral compass or spiritual direction.

So I am glad that Jesus came to Earth to give all these 5 billion people something to believe in. If they didn't have this religion, imagine how much worse life on this planet would be, with millions and billions of immoral, animist, godless heathen people living lives of brute force and immoral behavior with no spiritual direction at all. The world would be a sorry sorry place, much sorrier than it is now.

So while I do not follow Jesus or Christianity and have found my own spiritual direction outside of Christianity, at the same time, I recognize that without Jesus-belief and the Christian view of God and angels and doing good and being good Christians, the world would be a much sadder and brutal place. So it's good thing Jesus came to Earth to take care of these people. Imagine 5 billion or more people living as brute heathen savages at our very doorsteps!

Ouch!''
