Wedeman, a seasoned reporter for CNN based in the Middle East and Italy, changing locales as the news changes, was reporting from Italy the other day when he tweeted:
''News whiplash'': started the day reporting on Amanda Knox, switched
to Pope Francis, now on to Silvio Berlusconi.

THIS BLOG LOVES IT
the term

NEWS WHIPLASH

Who coined it first? Was Wedeman the first to coin the term? It has a good future.

One could define news whiplash as the feelings a reporter has when they cover one big story in the
morning, a second big story on a very different topic in the afternoon and a third big story in the evening, on an even more different kind of story than the first two. As CNN's Wedeman experienced on the day he tweeted the news whiplash tweet.
